Roger Dominey, a native of Charleston, South Carolina and a graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, began his insurance career in 1979. He formed his own firm, Financial Design Associates, in 1986 with offices in Hilton Head, South Carolina and Cincinnati, Ohio.
Roger relocated Financial Design Assoicates (FDA) to Jacksonville, Florida in July 1998 and became General Agent for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual). Over the years, the firm has topped the industry lists and received numerous awards. In 2017, they were named one of the top ten midsized companies in Florida Trend's Best Companies to Work for in Florida and a Best and Brightest Company to Work for in the Nation. They were also recognized by Jacksonville Magazine's for their Companies with Heart and Serving with Dignity awards for their philanthropic activities. In March 2018, the firm's name was rebranded to MassMutual Southeast Coast.
Roger is a Qualifying and Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table with over 25 years of membership holding the honor of MDRT Quarter Century. He is a member of the Court of the Table representing those members who are in the top 1% of insurance sales worldwide. He was named a 2011 Jacksonville Advantage Small Business Top 50 Small Business Influencer.
He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He also holds the Certified Financial Planner designation from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. He is Past-President of the Hilton Head Association of Life Underwriters and Past-Vice President of the Hilton Head Estate and Financial Advisors. He is the Past-President of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors- Jacksonville Chapter and Past-President for the Estate Planning Council of Northeast Florida. Roger sits on the Board of Directors for the Children's Home Society of Northeast Florida.
Roger is a member of the Jacksonville Rotary Club and GAMA International. In 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012, Roger received the Diamond International Management Award from GAMA.
